Company to host Pack the Box

Fort Wayne Metals will host another Pack the Box this week to support the Breastie Boxes initiative.

On Thursday, 100 employees of Fort Wayne Metals will pack more than 100 of the boxes to help local women battling breast cancer, the company said.

Each box contains items like socks, blankets, natural personal care products, jewelry and hand-crafted art – all selected personally by the Breastie Boxes team. Recipients of the boxes will also find notes of encouragement, Fort Wayne Metals said through email.

Breastie Boxes is a local nonprofit founded by cancer survivor Erica Hyatt who began building boxes in October 2022 and has gifted 2,909 boxes and raised $538,992 for its cause, the news release said. Fort Wayne Metals is a corporat
