COLUMBUS, Ohio — Nearly 80% of Ohio voters consider the ability of working parents to find and afford quality child care to be either a “state of crisis” or a “major problem,” according to the results of a poll released Tuesday.

The statewide survey found broad support for state and federal policies aimed at increasing access to and lowering the cost of care.

Commissioned by early child advocates Groundwork Ohio and the Ohio Head Start Association Inc., in partnership with First Five Years Fund, the poll of 600 registered Ohio voters was conducted Sept. 8-13, and has a credibility interval of 4%.
