As fall approaches, gas prices in west central Kentucky continue to tumble.
This week's Triple A East Central Gas Report finds the average price is $2.69 per gallon, down nine cents from last week. However, Paducah's average price is seven cents higher at $2.76 per gallon.
Statewide, the average price is $2.81 per gallon, making Kentucky one of the top 10 least expensive markets in the nation. The national average is $3.13 this week.
Triple A says gas prices are declining now as demand tapers off and retailers switch to winter blend gas, which is cheaper to produce.
