House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) told CNN on Tuesday that a pair of “Trump 2028” hats “randomly appeared in the middle” of his meeting with President Donald Trump .

After it was reported that Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) had rejected a pair of “Trump 2028” hats offered to them during their Oval Office meeting with the president, Jeffries gave a different account of what happened to CNN host Abby Phillip .
