Ayva Reid fired in the game-winning goal in overtime as Middletown North snagged a 2-1 win over Marlboro in Marlboro.

Marlboro struck first and went into halftime with a 1-0 lead after a goal from Mia Ortizio, but Middletown North came roaring back in the second half.

Mackenzie Klatsky assisted on Ortizio’s goal.

Middletown North’s rebound began with a goal by Piper Brink, assisted by Peyton Kulka, which locked both teams in a 1-1 tie that carried the game into overtime.

Finally, Reid, off a pass from Sofia Chaknis, found the back of the net in overtime to give Middletown North a hard-fought victory.

Middletown North (7-3) hosts Shore 10 a.m. Oct. 4. Marlboro (4-4-1) travels to Manchester Township 3:45 p.m. Oct. 3.
