The mounting injuries for West Virginia after the blowout loss against Kansas are still carrying over after Utah.

The biggest question after Utah was the status of quarterback Nicco Marchiol. Marchiol played the first four games of the season, but went to Rich Rodriguez the Monday after Kansas and informed him of a lingering mid-foot injury. Marchiol went to Colorado, the Tuesday before Utah, to see a specialist. A couple of days later, Marchiol was listed as “out” for Utah.

On Rodriguez’s radio show, he said Marchiol was in Arizona getting another opinion on his foot was told he could be out for several weeks. Rodriguez told him to communicate with the WVU doctors to make sure the information lines up. Right now, Rodriguez said Marchiol is definitely out in the short term.
