WHEELING — The Ohio Valley General Hospital/Ohio Valley Medical Center School of Nursing alumni are now conducting Nightingale Nurse tributes during local nurses’ memorial services when requested by families.

Mary McKinley, a member of the group, said people whose loved one worked as a nurse can now have a tribute done during the person’s memorial service.

She said the family just needs to ask the funeral home directors about it so they can get in touch with the alumni.

McKinley said alumni member Jody Miller started the project and, to date, four tributes have been conducted at memorial services.
