Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has been hospitalised at M.S. Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru due to health concerns. The 83-year-old leader was admitted after experiencing fatigue, breathing issues, and persistent fever following a busy election campaign for the Bihar polls.

Kharge went for a general health check-up on Tuesday night after developing a fever and complaining of leg pain. He underwent routine medical tests, including an ECG, and was advised to stay in the hospital for further observation. Hospital sources have confirmed that his condition is stable, and he is currently being treated in the general ward under the supervision of senior doctors.

Despite his health issues, Kharge was actively participating in political activities until Tuesday morning and appeared to be in good health. He has been vocal in his criticism of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing them of attempting to manipulate the Bihar Assembly elections through “vote theft.” At a recent public meeting in Patna, he stated, “PM Modi has a habit of stealing. He steals votes, steals money. And they (BJP) take care of people who fled India after looting the country’s banks.” He urged voters to remain vigilant, warning, “If you don’t stay alert, Modi and Shah will drown you.”

Kharge has a long political career, having served in various capacities in Karnataka state politics, including as a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and as the leader of the opposition. Further updates on his health are awaited as he continues to receive treatment.
