New Delhi, Oct 1: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the opening of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across the country, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced.
Of the 57 new schools, seven will be sponsored by the Union Home Ministry, while the remaining will be funded and managed by respective state governments.
Vaishnaw said that with this expansion, the Kendriya Vidyalaya network—currently comprising 1,288 schools—will further strengthen access to quality education for children of government employees and other eligible students.
The minister made the announcement during a media briefing on the latest Cabinet decisions, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure nationwide.
