Jim Farley was named CEO of the Dearborn automaker Oct. 1, 2020.

When Farley stepped into the top job, he faced monumental tasks: Fix product launches, bring down warranty and material costs, improve vehicle quality and speed the development of new technologies.

The shared view among industry observers is Farley's done more to position Ford for success than his recent predecessors, amid insurmountable challenges, many of which are outside of his control.
