Patricia Racette, 60, loves a challenge. Since first appearing on Opera Theatre of St. Louis’ stage as Donna Elvira in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” in 1993, she has done everything in the opera world.
The Grammy-winning soprano originated roles in many prominent world premieres, shaped the careers of today’s rising stars and performed with many of the world’s leading symphonies.
Recently named as artistic director for Opera Theatre , Racette has also appeared on the world’s most important stages, including the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, Paris Opera, San Francisco Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago, amongst others.
