Malawian musician Emmie Deebo has fulfilled her pledge to support struggling students through the Emmie Deebo Scholarship Fund, with 115 beneficiaries officially announced today.
The initiative, which was first teased on 2 July 2025 in a Facebook post where Deebo wrote “Get ready to apply for the Emmie Deebo Scholarship. With the money raised from my album, First Born, I have decided to introduce this fund to support others going through the struggles I once faced in school.”
Out of 709 applicants, 115 were selected after a rigorous vetting process that confirmed both their financial need and their enrollment status.
