BOSTON (WWLP) - State Senator Adam Gómez has been appointed as co-chair of the Ellen Story Commission on Postpartum Depression, a legislative body focused on improving maternal mental health outcomes across the Commonwealth.

The appointment was made by Senate President Karen E. Spilka and reflects Senator Gómez's commitment to health equity and legislative advocacy for families in the Hampden district and beyond.

The Ellen Story Commission on Postpartum Depression is named after former State Representative Ellen Story, who was a longtime advocate for maternal mental health. The commission's mission includes promoting early screening, expanding access to culturally responsive care, and advancing policies that support the mental health and well-being of parents and families.
