VALPARAISO — A 25-year-old Burns Harbor man is accused of pushing and injuring a 4-year-old boy in his care because the child had not retrieved diaper wipes, according to a court document.
Joshua Moyers is charged with a felony count of battery resulting in bodily injury to a person under the age of 14 when the accused is over the age of 18, records show.
The boy's mother said that shortly after he returned home Sept. 11, he lifted his shirt and showed her the bruises.
"But you can't tell him," the boy told his mother.
The mother said the boy also had a knot and bruising on his forehead, according to a court document.
The boy claimed Moyers was angry with him and pushed him against a wall using a desk chair, police said.
