NORTH PROVIDENCE – Quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers usually grab the headlines when their football teams win big games, and rightly so – they’re the players who are moving the ball down the field and scoring the touchdowns.

But two mornings after watching his North Providence High football team notch its first victory of the Division III season by defeating the Central Falls/Blackstone Valley Prep/Achievement First co-op team, 24-7, head coach Mike Tuorto was quick to single out five unheralded players who did the dirty work in the trenches for their signal callers and skill players.
