The Chennai Family Welfare Court has officially granted a divorce to music composer G.V. Prakash Kumar and singer Saindhavi, bringing an end to their twelve-year marriage. The decision, announced on September 30, follows months of court proceedings and a six-month reconciliation period.

Reports indicate that when the couple filed for divorce, the court allowed a six-month period for possible reconciliation. During the hearings, Prakash had expressed willingness to stay in contact with Saindhavi for the sake of their child. However, both parties remained firm on their decision to separate, prompting the court to finalise the divorce.

Although their marriage has ended, both Prakash and Saindhavi will continue pursuing their musical careers independently.
