Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Red Warning’ for scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall, with isolated extremely heavy falls, along with thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph.
This severe weather is expected at one or two locations in Odisha’s districts within the next 24 hours.
According to the IMD’s mid-day weather bulletin, the ‘Red Warning’ specifically applies to the districts of Jagatsinghpur and Puri, where heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are very likely.
The IMD has also released an ‘Orange Warning’ for isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with similar wind speeds in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalaha
