If Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein cannot inspire love, it will cause fear, with the first trailer for the awaited adaptation out today. As author and Gothic icon Mary Shelley wrote, "Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change," and this trailer intends to evoke just that.

Based on Shelley's immortal tale of humanity and monstrosity Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, the film sees Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi as Victor Frankenstein and his handcrafted Creature.
