PAYETTE COUNTY, Idaho — The Payette County Sheriff's Office announced Highway 52 has reopened after a mudslide prompted the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) to close a portion of the road.

Payette County dispatch received a report about the mudslide around 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, according to the sheriff's office. The mudslide closed Highway 52 between Killebrew Drive and Little Willow Road.

The highway reopened in both directions shortly before 12 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1. Authorities said the closure continued as crews cleared debris and ensured the area was safe for travel Wednesday morning.
