ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Rochester Public Works Department is set to begin a new traffic calming project in the Lincolnshire Neighborhood, focusing on 48th Street NW and Nottingham Drive NW.
The city says this initiative aims to reduce vehicle speeds, enhance pedestrian safety, and boost neighborhood livability.
Key features of the project include curb extensions on Nottingham Drive NW and 48th Street NW, as well as a median on 48th Street NW. Construction is scheduled to start the week of October 6 and is expected to be substantially completed by November 15. During this time, affected streets and sidewalks will be closed, but property access will remain available.
Local residents petitioned for these measures due to concerns about speeding, aggressive driving, and pedestrian safety. A
