PHOENIX — Two men were seriously injured during an incident in downtown Phoenix, police said.

Around 3 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the scene near 1st Street and Roosevelt for an injured person call.

When officers arrived on the scene, authorities said they found a man with signs of serious trauma. Police said he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A second man was also found nearby with serious injuries. He was also transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

According to police, both men showed signs of sustaining blunt force trauma consistent with being hit with an unknown object.
