Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday, 1 October, said that only Karnataka has a mechanism where citizens can report potholes to authorities.
“Filling potholes is a continuous process. I am doing an inspection of the works to check the quality of work. We will also hold meetings with citizens about the quality of road work. And are doing the road repair work diligently, let there not be any doubts about the quality. We are also asphalting the areas around the potholes. In some of the places, we are asphalting an entire stretch,” he said.
The deputy chief minister further added, “There are 1.20 crore vehicles in the city and a floating vehicle population of 50 lakh. Our roads are managing such a huge load. We are also white topping many stretches for higher durability.”
