The digital release date for Freakier Friday has been revealed. The movie, which was directed by Nisha Ganatra, is the fifth Freaky Friday movie , though it is the first to be a sequel featuring an original story rather than a new adaptation of Mary Rodgers's original 1972 novel.

The movie is a direct sequel to 2003's Freaky Friday , featuring the return of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan as mother-daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman. This time around, they accidentally swap bodies with Anna's daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and soon-to-be stepdaughter Lily (Sophia Hammons), leading to a variety of comic hijinks.
