Workers at a Midlands nursing home have appeared in court after a pensioner fell from her wheelchair.

Shirley Froggett suffered a broken femur when she fell from a wheelchair she was not strapped into.

Her wheelchair did not have a functioning lap belt when she fell.

The 84-year-old died of pneumonia weeks later in November 2018 at the New Lodge Nursing Home in Mickleover, Derby.

Nakeeba Akhtar, 33, Amar Muneer, 47, and 37-year-old Prabina Thapa, appeared at Derby Crown Court on Tuesday, September 30, on what would have been the first day of their trial.
