FRANKFORT — The Port City Run is returning to the Frankfort Fall Festival, bringing back a four-decade tradition with a scenic 5K through Frankfort and Elberta.
The race will start in Open Space Park downtown and continue along the Betsie Valley Trail before crossing the bridge into Elberta. Organizers say the run is open to all ages and fitness levels, with prizes for top overall, master and grand master male and female runners. Awards will also be given in 14 age divisions, ranging from 0-14 up to 80 and older.
Proceeds from the event will support the Frankfort-Elberta Area Varsity Cross Country and Track programs, as well as the Fall Festival itself.
The run’s return this year aligns with the festival’s Craft Fair and other community activities scheduled throughout the day.
