Coventry City Council has proposed a £3 million long lease on an office building for tenants Coventry Building Society. The lease on the financial institution's Oakfield House offices, part of its Binley cluster of buildings, expired in June.
The two bodies have since been trying to agree a deal that suits both parties. A shorter lease was deemed unsuitable by the building society, which wanted a longer option.
In a cabinet meeting yesterday, Tuesday, September 30, the council heard a proposal which would see the building society let the building on a long lease for £3 million.
