COTTONWOOD, AZ (AZFamily) — A person has been detained in Yavapai County after allegedly making threats against an elementary school this week.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) started investigating the threat against Dr. Daniel Bright Elementary School in Cottonwood after a parent reported “concerning information” on their child’s cell phone.

YCSO deputies responded immediately, and the person was detained following an investigation. YCSO did not provide any details about the child or about charges that may be filed. There are no other reported suspects.

Out of caution, YCSO will have additional deputies on the school’s campus on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Administration is also able to provide support for students, staff and their families.
