A drug dealer who went on the run to Dubai has been jailed for 14 years after his arrest in Belgium. In August 2023, Peter Hudson was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being convicted in his absence of being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Hudson absconded before his trial at Durham Crown Court and is believed to have fled to Dubai. But earlier this week he was arrested in Belgium and, after being detained in Brussels, was extradited back to the UK to face court. On Tuesday, the 28-year-old, from County Durham, appeared at Teesside Crown Court and was sent down to serve the prison sentence he was given two years ago.
