Greggs customers will this week have to pay more for some popular items.

Boss Roisin Currie confirmed price hikes for some items on the Greggs menu.

It comes as the Greggs chief executive urged the Government to avoid any 'surprises' in the autumn Budget.

It will hike the price from £2.95 to £3.15 - an increase of 20P.

Its three-part breakfast deal, which includes a side such as a yoghurt pot or hash browns, will rise from £3.95 to £4.15 - again, an increase of 20p.

Greggs confirmed that some of its baked goods, such as the empire biscuit, will go up by 5p.
