Local event expected to bring together West Valley Jews
When Rabbi Shlomo Ceitlin moved to Surprise last year, he wanted to cultivate a Jewish presence in the city.
Now his dreams are expanding to the entire West Valley.
Ceitlin and his wife, Batya, are producing the Jewish Expo on Sunday, Oct. 19, meant for Jews across the region to help commemorate the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre when Hamas troops killed or took hostage of thousands of Israelis.
One of the hostages taken that day, Judith Raanan, will be the keynote speaker during the expo, detailing her nearly two weeks in captivity with her daughter, Natalie. The two were among the first hostages released and first Americans.
