In an effort to reassess the city's current water connection fees, the Rigby City Council approved a contract with Keller Associates at their Sept. 18 meeting, to conduct a study of the wastewater system and to determine an appropriate connection fee.

Currently the connection fees to the city water stand at $3,000 for in-city connections and $6,000 for out-of-city connections, stated Mayor Richard Datwyler. However, after a few discussions with Public Works Director Mitch Bradley and representatives from Keller Associates, Datwyler wanted to know if that cost was adequate.

"How are we going to provide for the city with the fees we have right now," Datwyler said he asked. "We reached out to Keller's to help us make the right decision."
