A Monroeville insurance broker has been charged with insurance fraud and other offenses after receiving $75,000 from a client for a purported “business opportunity” that never materialized.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General on Tuesday charged Chad G. Skena, 48, with insurance fraud, theft by deception, deceptive business practices and securing execution of documents by deception. His bail was set at $50,000 and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 14.

The violations are the third time Mr. Skena has been charged by the attorney general since April 2024. Previously, he was charged with theft of about $70,000 in client premium payments from 16 victims in Allegheny County between 2020 and 2022.
