EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley will hold a benefit this month featuring a mariachi opera.

Cruzar la Cara de la Luna, a mariachi opera, debuted with the Houston Grand Opera in 2010 and has toured major cities in the U.S.

The benefit scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11, will be the mariachi opera's first visit to the Valley.

Tickets start at $125 and range to $500. Proceeds will benefit the Art Therapy Program at Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley, which provides creative outlets that support the emotional and mental well-being of children receiving care, according to a news release.

The event will take place at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex, located at 1201 W. University Dr.
