Concerns that Glasgow won’t meet its affordable housing targets have been raised by a local councillor.
During yesterday's housing and economy committee meeting councillor John Carson asked officials if the council had plans to accelerate the delivery of more homes in order to meet national targets.
According to Glasgow’s local housing strategy from 2023 to 2028 the council is working to provide 1300 affordable homes and 1300 market value homes each year.
A report presented to members highlights that the Glasgow AHSP (Affordable Housing Supply Programme) budget for 2024 to 2025 totals £94.05 million.
Since 2003, £1.84 billion has been invested in affordable housing through the AHSP producing over 22,000 new and improved homes in the city.
