There were questions about Aaron Judge’s arm health going into the postseason after he suffered a flexor strain in his right elbow in July.

Perhaps the answers came in the seventh inning of Game 1 of the Yankees ’ American League Wild Card series against the Red Sox .

Nick Sogard stretched a single into a double in the top of the seventh on a ball hit to Judge. The All-Star outfielder looked hesitant to go after the ball. Judge then one-hopped it to Anthony Volpe at second but it wasn’t in time as Sogard slid in safely with one out and represented the go-ahead run.

According to Statcast, Judge’s throw was 73 mph.

“I didn’t want to overthrow it,” he told reporters . “He’s quick. He got in there and you just try to make a play.”
