Climbing the routes is like solving a puzzle, Bouchard said.
“It’s quite fun. These competitions always bring the community together. You get to try new puzzles. That’s how I see it. You’re trying to piece together the routes. They’re brand new. There’s so many of them. You get to tax your physical, but also your mental limits.”
