PITTSBURGH —
Plans to add a bike lane on Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh's Strip District have been temporarily halted.
The pause comes after local business owners and the Strip District Business Association filed an injunction against the proposal. Advertisement
The plan aimed to reduce Penn Avenue to one lane from 22nd to 31st streets to accommodate a bike lane and parking.
However, some business owners argue the design would worsen traffic and negatively impact businesses.
A judge's order has paused the work, which was set to begin this week, as the case progresses.
The next court hearing is scheduled for mid-October.
