A nonprofit well known for serving local communities is expanding its services in Montgomery.

The Urban League of Alabama is expanding its programs and services that will help local workers support youth with mentoring and violence prevention initiatives.

It also helps provide better access to services for underserved communities.

Last year alone, the Urban League served more than 9,500 people.

“Montgomery’s strength has always come from our people,” Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed said. “Their resilience, their talent and their determination. I recommend this expanded presence in our city. We are building new pathways to opportunity for families, entrepreneurs and young people.”
