WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- It's Fall, and Halloween is around the corner, with Thanksgiving not far either.
At this time of year, the seasonal store shelves begin to fill up with candy in anticipation. While you will always find favorites like M&M's, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Nerds, you will almost always find a bag of the more divisive candies, like various brands of black licorice, peanut butter taffy, or Circus Peanuts.
There is one type that many seem to truly despise: Candy Corn. According to the National Confectioners Association, it was invented in the 1880s by George Renninger for the Wunderle Candy Company in Pennsylvania, which is still in operation.
It first began mass production by the Goelitz Candy Company. Goelitz is today known as Jelly Belly, a division of the Ferrara
