GORHAM, Ill. (KFVS) - A groundbreaking will celebrate a new southern Illinois fire station on Wednesday afternoon, October 1.
According to a news release from the Illinois State Fire Marshal, the groundbreaking for the new Village of Gorham Volunteer Fire Department will be on at 4 p.m.
Illinois State Fire Marshal Michele Pankow, Village of Gorham Mayor Robert Roe and Gorham Volunteer Fire Department Chief Ron Guertersloh will attend the groundbreaking at the department, 305 Washington Street.
They say the department is receiving $350,000 in funding for the project through the FireStation Construction and Rehabilitation Grant from the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
