A 27-year-old has been charged with shooting two men at a Hoover apartment complex and with biting a police officer during the arrest.
Rahman Thomas Hayes, who lived at the complex where the shooting happened, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, second-degree assault, resisting arrest, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
Hayes’ bond is set at $578,000.
The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. Monday at The Haven Apartment Homes in the 2900 block of Chace Lake Drive.
Two men were struck by the gunfire and taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
One victim was in the parking lot and was shot in the leg. He has since been released from the hospital.
