U.S. Marshals have arrested a Hoke County man in New York who is accused in a Fayetteville killing in February.
Christopher Quinton Cowans, 35, of Raeford, was arrested Sept. 16 and charged in the first-degree murder of Mark Anthony Singletary, 35, of Fayetteville.
Cowans is the second man to be charged in Singletary's death. Alan Martes Wilson, 45, of Raeford, was arrested March 20 and charged with first-degree murder in the killing, court records show.
According to Wilson's arrest affidavit, Singletary was found dead around 2:40 a.m. Feb. 21 in the area of Bragg Boulevard and Winston Avenue after Fayetteville police were flagged by a passerby who spotted his body lying next to the road.
The record notes that Singletary was suffering from a gunshot wound to the right torso.
