Late in the third period, the Senators’ Nick Cousins — the definition of a hockey rat — delivered a two-handed slash to the right wrist of Canadiens rookie sensation Ivan Demidov seconds after he had lost the puck. It was a premeditated and vicious act with an intent to injure. Demidov played one shift on the power play after the slash before heading to the locker room.
