SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Utah Republican Party is urging its members to comment on map "C" in Utah's court-ordered redistricting process, calling it the "only map proposed that contains the redistricting criteria and legislative boundaries needed to stop the Democrats."
Utah Democrats are accusing the Utah GOP of inserting politics into the process.
But GOP Chair Rob Axson says he believes it is the party's place to advocate for what it believes is the best map for Utah.
The GOP sent an email to their entire email list pushing map C late Tuesday, along with links to comment on the maps and donate to the party.
Map C is also the map that GOP lawmakers are leaning towards, two sources close to the discussions tell ABC4. One other source said, however, that there wasn't a consensus.
