SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah-Chatham County School leaders are figuring out ways to shorten the amount of time students are on the bus.

It’s all a part of their long-range facilities plan passed last year.

WTOC sat in on the school board’s meeting Wednesday.

If approved, the full plan presented could impact about 300 students.

It addresses a few different concerns.

The main one being transportation and how it relates to overcrowding.

Megan Davidson, the Chief Operating Officer of Operations and Facilities for the school system presented a few things that could help.

She gave board members a look at Hubert Middle School and Myers Middle School, which they consider underutilized schools.

She proposed they move 46 students from Hubert Middle School to Myers Middle School.
