OCEAN CITY — The site of the former Seaspray near 34th Street should be declared an area in need of rehabilitation, members of the Planning Board agreed at a recent meeting.
“Short of it being actively falling down in front of us, all the evidence is clear,” Planning Board member Dean Adams said at a September meeting. On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the board was set to finalize its vote in resolution stating that the site meets the criteria to be declared an area in need of rehabilitation.
The next step will be up to City Council, which could take up the matter at its Oct. 9 meeting. Eventually, approval of a redevelopment zone could allow the city to name a developer and negotiate a plan for what might be built at the site, including potential zoning changes that could allow reside
