A drink-driving police officer has walked free from court after getting behind the wheel more than double the limit.

PC Jakub Lewandowski was off duty when he was first stopped by police in the early hours of the morning.

The 23-year-old undertook a breath test which revealed he was over the drink-drive limit.

After he was bailed, he then was caught drink-driving for a second time.

Nottinghamshire Police said Lewandowski was initially stopped by officers in Wollaton Road, Nottingham, at 4.12am on Sunday, August 31.

He had a reading of 90 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath - the legal limit is 35 micrograms.
