Over the weekend, Valley Pump & Equipment celebrated its 80th anniversary, marking a milestone for one of the oldest continuously operated businesses in Emmett. According to its website, Valley Pump was founded by Kenny and Mary White in the early 1940s, selling and servicing water systems, farm equipment and irrigation systems. The company has remained family-owned for four generations.

“I owe it to the hard work of my grandfather, Kenneth White and my grandmother, Mary White,” owner Bill White said. “And I owe it to my dad, Dennis White, and I owe it to my mother, Willean White, although she didn’t directly work with the business, she was very understanding of the hours and the headaches that come along with this business, I loved her also.”
