The Hatebreed saga continues .
Former bassist and founding member, Chris Beattie, filed a lawsuit over the summer for being unceremoniously fired from the group . Now Hatebreed have submitted their own official response to the suit.
Billboard reports how frontman James Vincent Shanahan — better known as Jamey Jasta — and the band filed a motion on Thursday, Sept. 25, asserting that Beattie’s lawsuit essentially holds no water.
The motion describes Beattie’s suit as a “garden variety break-up case,” according to Billboard, with Beattie himself “a disgruntled former band member of the band known as ‘Hatebreed,’ [who] erroneously asserts a right to remain a permanent member of the band in perpetuity despite the fact the underlying relationship between parties was terminable at-will.”
