Anthony Lechner, the 55-year-old man charged with murder in connection with the death of his wife, Kimberly Lechner, will remain in jail after a judge ordered a mental competency exam.
Dressed in an orange prison jumpsuit, Anthony had little to say to the judge after court papers said he stabbed his wife. Anthony’s public defender said when asked about what happened, all he could do is give his wife’s name and address.
Baltimore County police said officers were called to the 900 block of Maplehurst Lane in the Monkton area early Monday morning for a domestic disturbance.
According to court documents, Kimberly’s brother, who resides in the basement of the home, heard screaming. Upon investigating, he saw Anthony on top of Kimberly, stabbing her.
